Windows 10: DISM command to restore Hyper-V health is not fully functional

Hello fellow Microsoft Community Members,I noticed and wanted to bring to your attention a possible program code issue. The DISM command when used to restore the health of the Hyper-V shows that it completes however does not restore any of the missing virtual services as seen here.I was hoping this would restore all the Hyper-V services or list error codes on why they are deleted from the machine.Image: Shows false restore informationImage: Services still missingImage: Error CodeImage: Services are removed. Win10Pro, Hyper-V and missing files

I am aware that does not install Hyper-V, it was from me attempting to clear up the issue that was preventing me installing Hyper-V. The dism log when issuing the commands;

• DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /All /FeatureName:Microsoft-Hyper-V
  
• DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /All /FeatureName:Microsoft-Hyper-V-All

Show the exact same errors, so I was guessing were rooted in the same cause.

 

DISM - Parameter "Cleanup-Image" is not known (error 87)

Hello Eric,

To troubleshoot your concern, we suggest that you run DISM Restore Health command. Refer to the steps provided below:

• Open Command Prompt (Administrator).
• Type the following command:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

3. Press Enter.

Hyper-V is missing

Hmm, I just ran the command in powershell: Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V -All

and it worked without a hitch and I didn't do anything.

Make sure you can even use hyper-V:

The Hyper-V role can be enabled on these versions of Windows 10:

Windows 10 Enterprise

Windows 10 Professional

Windows 10 Education

The Hyper-V role cannot be installed on:

Windows 10 Home

Windows 10 Mobile

Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise

Use the command "DISM /Online /Get-Feature" to see what features you can install and see if hyper-v exists on that list.

check windows version by typing winver in the start menu search or cortana search.
