Windows 10: DISM Error 3 an initialization error occurred

Hi,I am trying to recover two separate windows installations that got corrupted both due to issue with raid. Neither can boot into windows or safe mode. Both machines are VMs.I've used various cmds in Windows Recovery Environment and keep getting the same error. Below is the cmd I've usedISM /image:E:\ /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:\temp /limitaccessE = windows installation drive in Win PED = data drive where I copied and mounted the WIM file from the installation ISOI've also tried directly with the cmd belowISM /image:E:\ /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:WIM:F:\sources\ins

Windows 10 Update Errors - DISM Error 3 - an initialization error occurred

I am getting error msg 80070003, and when following the instruction on the web, I get to the part on DISM to restore health and can not proceed further due to error 3 - an initialization error occurred.

Any thoughts on how to proceed ?

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070003: Feature update to Windows 10, version 1709.

 

harddrive error testing software

Well so far in the past two days I've had 3 lock ups followed by an error saying "a disk read error occurred"

I need some type of software to test my harddrive and make sure it's ok.

Suggestions?

 

Update error 0x80070246 then DISM error 582

I did everything exactly as the guide says until I got to step 4. When I tried step 4 this happened.
