Windows 10: dism failed to find source to repair component store

I am running Windows Home 23H2. KB5044380 failed to install in Windows Update.Running DISM, /checkhealth and /scanhealth both said the Component Store is repairable. When trying /restorehealth it said it couldn't find the source files. I downloaded the only available ISO from the Windows download page: "Windows 11 multi-edition ISO for X64 devices". This is 24H2.After trying both mounting the ISO is situ and subsequently burning to an 8.5GB DVD, when neither worked saying it could not find the source files, I finally tried copying the install.wim file to to a folder "Wim" on my C drive.

The component store has been corrupted.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

My issues with this:

• Step 3: file not found
• Step 4: files not found
• Step 5: about 40% of the files are missing
• Finally: after a reboot dism still cannot fix my PC

 

Corruption not repairable, DISM is also failing to repair

I wanted to know is there a reason why DISM is failing to repair the component store under impossible to find the sources files error.

The sfc return those errors :

DISM command /RestoreHealth unable to find source files

I am unable to perform SFC Scan or DISM Restore Health Successfully.

Windows 10 Pro Version 21H1 Build 19043.1083.

• sfc /scannow finds corruption its unable to fix.
  
• DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
  
  • Results in "The component store is repairable
    
• DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
  
  • Results in "The component store is repairable"
    
• DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  
  • Results in "The Source files could not be found"
    

I've downloaded what I believe to be the correct .iso file for the version of Windows I am running/needing. See below:





Mounting the .iso file to F: and pointing DISM to use its install.wim file is also failing.

• DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:F:\Sources\install.wim
  
• Results in "The source files could not be found".
  

Could anyone help me decipher the log files?
