DISM problem , on windows 10 creators update , ver.1703

    Hi ,
two days ago ( 2/5/2017) upgraded my windows 10 system from ver.1607 to ver.1703 , so called Creators update
and immediately ran sfc /scannow ( no integrity violation ), DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth ( component store repairable ) and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth ( Error : 0x800f081f or 0x800f0906 The source files could not be downloaded ) then DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:K:\Sources\Install.wim:1 which resulted in the same error . I have to refer that I use the Image_Health tool taken from windows 10 Forum , for all the above commands and others as DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup , etc . Some rumors from internet (googling) say , this is a Microsoft error which must be fixed ? Is there any solution so far ?
    Thanks for your attention .

P.S. ver.1607 had no problem of the kind , that's why I keep a latest System Image , just in case ...

    :)

Most of the Google searches eventually lead to items that credit this thread for identifying the cause and suggesting some registry fixes.
Creators update component store shows corruption but unable to repair

1703's DISM can be run successfully to completion if it is run offline...
Use DISM to Repair Windows 10 Image
...so I am prepared to wait for MS to get round to issuing a fix.

boot from dvd --> troubleshoot -->command prompt -->Diskpart ---> list volume ---> to ensure the drive letters and paths
I followed everything you wrote for offline run of DISM command
although copied from you , with necessary changes in drive letters , the response was an error 2 saying " ..be sure for right path and Read permissions of the source file , that is , install.esd , I guess .
    What to do next ?
    thanks

I think this is a problem Microsoft should be dealing with. I found that just by running Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth orDISM /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth the errors would come back. After restoring Macrium backup image from the previous day, both Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth and SFC /Scannow are clean. Strange...

It sounds like, despite your best efforts, you haven't correctly identified the Drive and Path to the install.esd. Before running the DISM command, try running dir install.esd /s from the root of the drive you think it should be found on.

the drive K:\ becomes H:\ ESD-ISO Label in command prompt , and C:\ becomes D:\ as shown in diskpart>list volume etc , so I proceed with your Dism command line changing only the drive letters , what else to do ?

When you boot from the DVD is H: the drive with sources\install.esd on it and D: the drive with your \Windows folder on it?

First you need to create the C:\Scratch folder before you boot from the DVD. Boot from the DVD to the command prompt. Do a 'dir' of D: and H: to check you have got the right drive letters. If they are correct, as your specs say you have Pro your DISM command should be:

    Code: DISM /ImageDISM problem , on windows 10 creators update , ver.1703 :D:\ /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:ESD:H:\sources\install.esd:1 /ScratchDirDISM problem , on windows 10 creators update , ver.1703 :D:\Scratch[/quote]
    ( for Home use: install.esd:2 )
