Windows 10: DISM Source Files Couldn't be Found even if stated

Hi, I've tried DISM many, many times since I probably accidentally clicked a bad registry import file. When I stated DISM Sources with Limited Access /limitaccess, DISM ignores the .esd source file in my Windows Installation Media. I have no experience in DISM and what it does, all I really know is just that it just adds missing and corrupted Windows Features into the current Windows image and fixes everything. I've also stated in another thread of mine that I have this "Safe_OS during Replicate_OC operation" whenever I try to do an in-place upgrade. I don't want to reset my computer what so

Source to use for DISM on Windows 10

This is not completely true. The suggestion is to download the Techbench version and use DISM to apply to install.wim directly. However, you can also use the version download from MCT except it will involve an extra step as follows:

1. Use the latest version of 7-Zip to extract the content of install.esd. For example: to a folder xxx on the desktop
2. From Admin command prompt:
   Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\xxx\windows /LimitAccess

See screen shot, the contents of install.wim and install.esd are exactly the same.

 

DISM function and Source Files

What is the command line to set the source files within the DISM function to Windows Update? I have tried to run the DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and I get an error (see below) stating the source files cannot be found and it refers me to a
Microsoft Website that is pretty much useless. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Dism error: 0x800f081f

I used Dism "C:\>dism /image:c:\ /cleanup-image /restorehealth /scratchdir:c:\scratch" to repair a Win10 system in a PE environment, and received an error 0x800f081f, stating that "[t]he source files could not be found".

Any suggestions on what to do next?
