Windows 10: display 2: connected to intelr UHD graphics and second line Display 2 is not active

display 2: connected to intelr UHD graphics and second line Display 2 is not active, this what I can see on my screen, I am using Thinkpad intel Corei7 10th Generation, RX Radeon. I am trying to connect second monitor through doc station but it is not working and above mentioned error is showing under display - Advance setting. My first monitor is working fine and its connected with HDMI. My both monitor was working fine 2 months back, whne came back from holidays this has happed.

Can I extend Display 1 to Display 2 and duplicate Display 2 to Display 3 ?

Thank you for the reply. I found a different way and you can connect all displays with separate cables or you can have link between them if they have Displayport or Thunderbolt Daisy Chaining functionality.

Anyway this does not help duplicating an extended display but going into Intel Graphics Command Center application because my on-board video card is Intel helped me extend Display 1 to Display 2 and mirror Display 2 for Display 3.

Steps Performed:

1. Open Intel Graphics Command Center application

2. Navigate to Displays left menu item

3. Click ... for Monitor 2 and select Extend Monitor 1

4. Click ... for Monitor 3 and Mirror Monitor 2

This is all to do to have a projector show the same presentation I have on my second monitor so that I can see the notes on my primary monitor.

 

"Display 2 Isn't Active" ?

I have two monitors connected to my desktop computer. I use both monitors and today only 1 botted up. I though it was cable problem, co I switched cables and that didint helped. So I disconnected one monitor and then voila the other monitor worked. I tried both the DP ports and it turned out only one monitor could function at the same time.
Very interesting. So it wasnt cables, it wasnt DP ports on the grahic card.

When I looked in the display settings in windows, there was a new message under my second monitor "Display 2 Isn't Active".
So the system knew about the second display, it just wasnt active.

What now?

EDIT: SOLUTION: I opened Nvidia control panel and under "Display" and "Set up multiple displays" I chcked the other display. It was unchecked for some reasons.
Now it works.

 

Multiple displays detected by Windows, but there is no extra display connected

Hello everyone,

I hope someone can help me with this issue i've been having for a while. My laptop always "detects" 2 displays when I boot it up. But.... I have no extra display connected at all. Every USB and HDMI port is empty. Literally nothing is connected to the laptop.

When I go to the "Display settings" of Windows and "Identify" the display's, the laptop screen is always selected as "Screen 2". But "Screen 1" has the red/orange colour selected. If I click the button "Show only on 2" and change it to " Show only on 1" the laptop screen turns black. After several seconds this change is automatically undone.

If I click on the option "Advanced Display", Display 1 is described as "Internal Display; Connected to Intel(R) UHD Graphics". It also states that "Display 1 isn't active". Display 2 is described as "Wired Display; Connected to NVIDIA RTX 3080 Laptop GPU" and it gives al kinds of data and the option to set a refresh rate.

My question is; Why does the system "detect" 2 displays? And can I change settings so that windows always just detects 1 display in stead of 2?
