  1. Display Blacks out after some time

I have a GTX 1060. Used to work fine. I switched my PC on to do some work, did some Word/Excel/Zoom for 3 hours and decided to play GTA. Played for approx 1 Hour with no issues, then closed the game and went to do some work for 5 minutes. When I returned I saw the fans of the GPU were spinning like crazy, and my monitor wasnt receiving any Signal. Considering it to be a driver crash, I turned it off by flicking the PSU switchno other way to turn it off was working and turned it on. Got into my account, started playing an audio file and the display blacked out again. But the music was still playing. I again turned it off and restarted, the same problem again. Again restarted, but only this time it kept switching off itself.

My friend had a spare 710, and just to rule out and potential CPU/Mobo/Ram issues used it and the PC has been running fine since 2 days, even after stress testing it. My guess was it had something to do with the 6pin Power Supply/GPU, so I downloaded WhoCrashed and it gave the following report-

The crash took place in a Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver on your system that cannot be identified at this time.

Any Idea on how to fix this issue?

    :)

    • Press Windows + X keys and click
      Device manager.
    • Click to expand Display adapters, right click the second adapter and click
      Disable.
    • Restart the computer and check whether the issue persists or not.

Black screen after updating display drivers

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that after upgrading the graphics drivers, you are receiving a Black screen. I’ll certainly assist
    you with the issue.

    However, please let us know:

    • When exactly do you see a black screen?

    • Are you able to boot the computer to the login in screen?

    • What is the make and model of the computer?

I suggest you to try refreshing the graphics driver by using the key sequence
Windows logo key + Ctrl + Shift + B and see if that helps.

I would suggest you to try booting the computer into Safe Mode and try disabling the display driver. Refer
    the article on Start
your PC in safe mode in Windows 10
    .

After booting the computer to Safe Mode, refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press
Windows logo key + X, and select Device Manager.

    2. Expand
      Display Adapters.

    3. Right click on the
Display driver and select Disable device.

    4. Restart the computer.

If this allows you to boot the computer to normal mode, try uninstalling the driver.
To do this, refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press
Windows logo key + X, and select Device Manager.

    2. Expand
      Display Adapters.

    3. Right click on the
      Display driver and select Uninstall.

    4. Restart the computer.

Let us know how it goes.
