    Display border issue


    I use my onboard graphics of my motherboard. My borders are beyond my monitor. I have tried adjusting it through display settings but nothing from scalling to resolution has worked. What can i do to adjust the borders

    Hi Lyn,

    It is true that the challenges that you’re having with the black borders on your computer screen might be related to the Display Settings of your monitor just like what DaveM121 was suggesting. To better assist you with your concern, we need you to answer
    the following questions:

    • Which type of display cable are you using? ( VGA, DVI, HDMI cable).
    • Were you able to update your display adapter drivers?

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    I suggest you to update the graphics card drivers/display drivers from manufacturer website and check if it resolves the issue.


    • Open Device Manager

    • Expand ‘Display Adapter’.

    • Locate the Mice and other pointing drivers.

    • Right-click on the display card listed and click on ‘Update Driver Software’

      If issue still persists, I would suggest you to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if it works.

      Follow the steps provided below to install the drivers in compatibility mode:
    • Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.
    • Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select operating system from the drop down.
    • Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.

    HOW TO REMOVE LARGE BLACK BORDER FROM DISPLAY?

    Hi,

    We would like to know more information regarding your concern with the large black border and missing Control Panel from its usual spot. For better assistance, please clarify the following information:

    • How are you accessing Control Panel now?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
    • Can you send us a screenshot of the large black border that you are currently seeing?
