Windows 10: Display Driver Stopped Responding And BSOD When Not Gaming

I've been having this issue for almost a month now and nothing I have done has managed to fix the issue. Randomly I will get this error message:

After a few of these error messages it will eventually BSOD or freeze as seen here:

I will get both of these by doing pretty much any task on the computer, whether it be watching a video, browsing a site or even just sat at the desktop. However extremely interesting is the fact that this error will not appear in any form whilst playing games on the computer. It will not error or BSOD or anything. But doing any other task will do so, even if i have 1 program running on my entire PC.

Things I have tried so far:

• Updating drivers
• Uninstalling/reinstalling drivers
• Installing beta drivers
• Using 'Display Driver Uninstaller' to clear drivers
• Cleaned out the PC of all dust present
• Took out and reseated graphics card from motherboard
• Put my 2 RAM sticks into different slots on the motherboard
• Unplugging my 2nd monitor so I am only using one
• Adding a TDR delay to my registry
• Full virus scan
• Updating my BIOS software

The only things I have not tried is swapping out hardware components as I am unsure if it is a hardware issue or a software issue as of yet.

I've noticed that the BSOD and errors become more common the longer the PC is left on. For example last night it was blue screening every 5 minutes of being active.

The error does not seem to continue whilst in safe mode as last night i spent a long time in 'Safe Mode Networking' in order to look up possible fixes. I am not sure if it does not continue because of drivers not being in use or because the quality is much lower than normal.

Problems with games upgraded from win 8.1 to win 10

What would cause the AMD display driver on windows 10
to stop responding when trying to active a game and then the screen turn black and shows an error report display driver has stopped responding and then responds again? This only happens when I try to download games from the Microsoft store (which
does not work) yet if downloaded directly from artifex mundi directly the game works.


Reinstalling a program or game like this does not solve these issues.

Microsoft Solitaire Collection error- Display Drivers stopped responding

Original Title: Microsoft Solitaire Collection

My Microsoft Solitaire Collection has kind of hitch to it. I can play any game in that collection except for pyramid. when play pyramid the screen freezes up and then in the lower right corner I see "Display Drivers stopped responding and then recovered,
Display Driver Intel HD window 8 (R) display driver stopped responding and recovered. I do not understand why this game is the only one that freezes any suggestion;

 

This has happened with me twice while playing GTA5. I don't think you need to worry about the state of your graphics card. I think its more to do with either Windows 10 or the driver. Do you have the latest driver installed?

 

Yeah I am using AMD catalyst 15.7.1 which is the latest version

 

Try uninstalling Catalyst Control Center and only install the drivers.

I am unsure as how to not install CCC, it seems without that it will only install the windows drivers.

Also i have attached the zip file with system information, to my first post

 

In the installation process you should be able to uncheck the installation of CCC.

To prevent windows from installing drivers, see my sig for the tutorial.

If you have used Driver Booster 2 for installing drivers, remove them. Programs that claim to update drivers mostly install corrupted or wrong drivers.

EDIT: I'll check the dumps home, it is too much for me know.

 

Okay I now only have the drivers installed. The issue seems to have lessened a little as now it doesn't seem to freeze/crash unless I am watching a video in fullscreen. Watching videos/browsing pages seems to be okay for the moment but this will most likely change.

I'm not sure if this detail is important but as like a warning to my display driver crashing/freezing I will hear my audio crash for a second. I'm not sure how to explain the sound but it is the same sound you will get if you BSOD whilst audio is playing, however i will only hear the audio crash for a second and then it will be fine. I have been getting this audio glitch the entire time i've had this issue so it may be a clue to what is causing the problem but i can't figure it out.

 

As mentioned the issue randomly returns after a while of it not doing anything. Is it possible that it is the RAM overheating or something? I have tried so many different methods of fixing software issues but I've not had any luck.

Also let me know if you find anything in that system information

 

These crashes are caused by the drivers of the graphics card.

Please check for driver updates or downgrade the drivers.

 

Okay I can't believe I never noticed this before. The crashes and errors don't persist in internet explorer, it happens in both Firefox and chrome but not Internet explorer.

Do you have any idea what might cause this?

 

A bug in the drivers most likely, what happens is that the GPU stops responding and windows tries to restart the driver.
The most common reason for this is that the graphics device is being overloaded or used beyond its capabilities.

Because there is too much timeout and windows can't recover it, you get this crash.

 

Do you think deleting all chrome and Firefox files and reinstalling then would fix the issue?

 

At the moment all other browsers including Edge are causing the crashes and the only working one appears to be IE. Do you have any suggestions on how I could fix this?
