Windows 10: Display has changed to a washed/faded look

    Display has changed to a washed/faded look


    Can someone please help me? I updated to Windows 11 a while ago and everything was fine. Now the display/colors look washed and faded and I am not great with computers but tried to install all new updates then revert to back from when it was normal and nothing... this is what I have . Also I have 2 screens and on the one screen external everything is fine its just on the laptop .. I am so lost. I have the Intel R UHD graphics 630 which says it is up to date as well?

    Faded looking photos

    I just received my HP laptop with Windows 10 yesterday and the setup was amazingly easy. Thank you. One thing I did notice though are the pictures I downloaded from an external hard drive looked faded or washed out. Not the vibrant colors I receive off
    my phone or tablet. Is there a setting I missed or a cause? I found the lighter/darker button but they do little for clarity.

    I wonder why nobody has suggested the OP to make a screenshot of display showing these "washed out colors"? Everything I have read in this thread suggests that the issue is not in Windows, but instead in display / monitor.

    My suggestion: next time you'll see these washed out colors, make a screenshot and post it here. If the screenshot shows us that colors are OK, then the issue is your monitor failing.
