    Display is stretched horizontally. How can I adjust it?


    One of my desktops, which had been connected to the monitor by DisplayPort to HDMI ceased working by this connection. As an alternative I now have it connected via VGA to HDMI and while this works the display is now stretched horizontally. I have the Display Resolution set at 1600x1200, which is the highest available option. The only other options are 1280x1024, 1024x768 and 800x600. In all of them the display is stretched. I have tried customizing the aspect ratio in the Intel Graphics Control Panel to Zero on horizontal which results in the correct display but with black vertical panels down

    screen display is horizontally stretched and distorted

    My display is horizontally stretched and slightly enlarged. There are no controls to adjust this in the display settings.

    After the November 2017 Windows 10 update, my screen display is horizontally stretched and distorted. Is there a fix that is not too complicated?

    Display stretched too wide

    A couple of days ago my Windows 10 PC was working normally. I had left for a while and when I returned the display was stretched horizontally. I tried adjusting the resolution but that did not resolve the problem. I did a system restore, and although I
    got an error message it did initially correct the distortion. Then, while I was going through and reading my email I heard a small "ping" sort of noise and the stretching distortion returned. Now I cannot get the issue resolved. I am using a resolution that
    minimizes the distortion but the screen is still stretched too wide. Suggestions from anyone? Thanks
