Windows 10: Display orientation / rotation shortcut?

Is there a desktop shortcut I can create or a batch file that I can place on my desktop to change the screen orientation/rotation?

Rotate Display Orientation

Hi All,

I have a Dell XPS 15 with Window 10 version 1909.

I am projecting my screen to my Dell P2719H, but I cannot get the system to rotate the display when the P2719H is plugged into the HDMI port.

The setting in Display Orientation setting is greyed out. I can rotate my screen when the P2719H is not connected.

I've tried Tablet mode, that didn't work. There is no Rotation button in the Action Centre. There is no option to rotate in the Intel Graphics Control Panel. Nor in the NVIDA control panel.

I have changed the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AutoRotation to 1, it did nothing.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this?

Hello,

Please be informed that, rotate option using keyboard shortcut depend on the hardware and software on your PC. Some software, for example Nvidia and AMD drivers, allow you to create ‘Hotkeys’ to rotate the screen using a shortcut such as Shift-Alt-Arrow
keys.

So, as for now I suggest you to follow the steps provided by Amarjeeth Paul to rotate your system screen.

Windows 10 Display Orientation

Hi,

Try these steps below and see if it corrects the problem.

Step 1: Set the Display settings to Landscape mode by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• Press Windows icon key on the keyboard, type Settings and select the top most search result.
• Click on System and select Display option from the left side panel of the window.
• Select Landscape option from the dropdown bar under Orientation.
• Click on Apply and check if the issue is resolved.

Step 2: Uncheck the Auto rotation option by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• Press Windows icon key on the keyboard, type Control Panel and select the top most search result.
• Select Appearance and Personalization and click on Display option.
• Click on Adjust resolution option from the left side panel of the window.
• Uncheck the Allow the screen to auto-rotate option and check if the changes are effective.
