Windows 10: DISPLAY PORT LINK FAILURE

I have got HP Envy 17 3D laptop(ATI Radeon HD 5800 graphics) and its in built display got some error as 'Display Port Link Failure'. My inbuilt display is not working now since it start displaying for a while then prompts the alert and gets blank. Already checked with the wires or connectivity. Related to refresh rate.

a e alert flashes and the display is gone. There is no option to attach screenshots.

If you have a second monitor or a second cable run though these troubleshooting steps:

Maybe something from the list may work with one monitor?

USB Port Oddities


Ok, let's see it with pictures step-by-step. First right-click on the USB device and select Update driver software:





Then select Browse my computer for driver software (LAST option) :





The select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (LAST option) :





Then select the standard driver from the list and click next:





Click next/OK as required to complete installation. Repeat the steps for all Intel USB devices. Finally click on each USB root device and press DEL to delete it, reply YES when asked. After deleting all USB root devices restart the computer.

Do you have the latest drivers installed for the graphics card?

If new drivers or reloading graphics card drivers doesn't fix it, the next thing I would suggest is to try the display port to HDMI adapter a couple of us have suggested already with a regular HDMI cable. If your cable is bad or you just need an adapter because for some reason a straight cable won't work - spending $20 on the adapter is a lot cheaper than new graphics card. I just installed my GTX 970 card a week ago and I had plenty of HDMI cables so that is why I went with the adapter instead of buying a new display port to hdmi cable.
