  1. Display scaling at 100% makes apps and letters too small

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7567. When I first got it, I thought that the apps were too blurry and they were too big, so I fixed it by changing the scaling from 150% (which was the recommended scaling by the system) to 100% and it was perfect.

Recently, my notebook suffered some problems and I had to send it to the Dell repair center in order to change its motherboard.

When it came back, the size of the letters and apps were apparently the same, but I noticed they were too blurry.

Now, the recommended scale setting for my computer is 125% and if I change it to 100% in order to fix the blurriness, everything gets too small.

I already tried to "Let Windows try to fix apps so they're not blurry", but this is just a checkbox with no functionality.

It is almost like the computer thinks that I'm using a 21.5-inch iMac as a display monitor and not a 15-inch monitor.

    Here's a comparison

    125% (recommended by system)

100% (non-blurry apps and unreadable letters)

    :)

Windows 10: Too Blurry at 150% Scaling (recommended), Too Small at 100% scaling

    I have a laptop with a 14 inch screen and 1920x1080 Resolution.

The recommended scaling is 150% by default

Display scaling at 100% makes apps and letters too small 3af89035-451b-4fb3-882a-8235daea4fbb.png

This makes the desktop icons and taskbar icons look a good size, but apps like "Steam" "rainmeter" and many dialogue boxes have blurry pixel-y texts.

at 100% size, this all goes away, but everything is far too small to use on a 14 inch screen.

    Steps I have tried

    1. Updating display drivers, both nvidia and intel graphics drivers

    2. detecting hardware changes

    3. setting up clear text font

    4. Disabling Cleartext font (then resetting it to be normal)

    5. Setting custom scaling level. (then resetting it after it didnt work.)

    6. DISABLING DPI SCALING ON APPS:

--This makes it so an individual app will run at 100% scaling, making it clear, but THEN IT BECOMES TOO SMALL.

    example: normal sized steam:

    http://i.imgur.com/jv07LYg.png

    Dpi Disabled steam:

    http://i.imgur.com/enXuDKj.png

This option is not acceptable, as i want the full size readability of steam with the clearness of smaller steam

This is the case with many apps, where the text and window in general look "Blurry" or "Fuzzy," so i wouldnt be able to change each apps scaling, that would take a large amount of effort. but i dont want to disable dpi scaling anyway, since the laptop screen
is 14 inches (lenovo flex 3), window size needs to be large.

sidenote: i hada laptop with 15.6 inch screen and 1366x768 resolution, that screen did NOT have an issue, as it was able to be set to 100% scaling, the default scaling for it, and not lose size.

How can i fix this, or can microsoft eventually make an update for this? cause i know im not the only one

    Thanks!

  3. Certain apps don't scale correctly on second and third display

I have an HP Elite X2 tablet (display 1) connected to a Dell docking station D3100 via USB. I then have two external monitors connected to the docking station: Display 2 = HP S2231 1920x1080, Display 3 = Dell 2007WFP 1680x1050.

In system settings both external displays the option 'Change the size of text, apps, and other items' = 100%. However, certain apps are not scaling at 100% on the external displays including PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, Skype for Business. The title bar,
ribbon, icons etc. are scaled larger than 100%. The mouse cursor is also scaled larger than 100%. Word, Excel and Chrome all scale at 100% as expected.

Changing the tablet display from 150% down to 100% fixes the issue but is not a solution as it makes everything way to small on the tablet display. Is there a solution for this problem?
