Windows 10: display setting color changed to rec 2020 1886.icc out of the blue

My pc changed the colour in display setting to rec 2020 1886.icc when I use HDR. The default is still set to RGB I didn't change anything it just changed on its own..I have several desktop apps "Spotify and battle.net" that don't work with hdr on with this rec2020 apparently.If I want to add a new color in color management I can't when everything is set on default. And the default is RGB not rec 2020.I'm 90% sure rec 2020 is the problem because it was always default before the problem started

HDR mode and color profiles

I have a calibrated ICC profile for normal sRGB mode. When i switch to HDR mode, it still using the calibrated profile, and giving weird colors and white balance.

I have tried to add a Rec.2020 HDR profile to ICC-profile (Advance color) list in color management. But I can´t use it at standard colors in HDR mode. Nothing happens when i try to applied it.

So to be clear:

In normal mode I want to use calibrated icc profile for sRGB.

And in HDR mode, using the standard REC.2020 icc profile.

 

ICC color management broken by Win10 update 1709

Whenever I start (or restart) Win10 update 1709, when the login screen is first displayed you can see the color is correct for 1-2 seconds, and then it changes (without any input) to become much darker.

After logging in, I have to open [Start] -> Settings -> System -> Display -> Display adapter properties -> Color Management...

On the Devices tab, it shows "Display: 1. LG 24GM77..., and under Profiles associated with this device, there is only 1 ICC Profile: "LG 24GM77 (default)". But even though it is listed as the default (and only) profile, it is not being used.

To activate it, I enable the checkbox "Use my settings for this device", select the ICC profile and click "Set as Default Profile" (even though it's already the default). As soon as I do, the correct colors are restored. But they will get clobbered again whenever
the PC is restarted or even if I log out and log in back again.

I've already tried the following:

- "Night light" is off

- Game bar is disabled

- Display drivers are current (10/8/17 GeForce 387.92 for GTX 970)

- Reinstalled the latest icc profile for the monitor

Basically, this problem started as soon as I installed update 1709, and I never had any problem with it before. I've never needed to look at these settings. I didn't even know they were there until I had to troubleshoot the problem.

 

Color Management Windows 10

Since the last Windows 10 ver 1703 cumulative update, under Color Management>Advanced> the "Reload Current Calibrations" button is grayed out. Also if I change the default ICC profile to an non-calibrated ICC, there is no visual change in the color of
my displays. Is Windows really applying my calibrated ICC profile that I created? It doesn't appear so. Also the monitors listed in Color Management aren't exactly the same as the ones listed in Display Settings. Does Windows 10 know what the other
hand is doing? They are both apps of Windows 10.
