  1. Display settings changing from 60hz to 144hz when plugged into battery.

Ive got a laptop that i want to STAY at 60hz. regardless of it being in performance mode, battery save mode, plugged in or not plugged in. im getting sick and tired of changing it everytime i plug the laptop in. msi auto changes to performance mode and i cant change the settings of performance mode to stop changing my screen refresh rate. help would be greatly appreciated. ive looked through similar posts and their instructions to fix dont work. one said type "intel" into your control panel and bring up power. but when i type intel the only option that comes up is system lol. no battery optio

    :)

  2. Set different refresh rates when on battery and plugged-in, automatically.

I want my laptop to automatically set the refresh rate to 48hz on battery power, and 60hz when plugged-in automatically.

(My laptop supports 48hz and 60hz in the settings, but I want it to change automatically just like on some gaming laptops.)

I'm looking for a setting, or app, or feature that allows me to automatically lower my refresh rate when on battery power (not to be confused with dynamic refresh rate).

    I'm using a Dell XPS 13 9310:

    • i5-1135G7
    • Iris Xe Graphics
    • 8GB RAM
    • Display supports 60hz and 48hz.

Most gaming laptops, especially those from Asus (ROG), has software called "ARMOURY CRATE" I'm pretty sure, and it automatically sets the refresh rate to 60hz as soon as the user unplugs it from power, and sets it back to 144hz (or more) when the user plugs it in. I want to do the same here, except the refresh rate goes down to 48hz, and goes back up to 60hz when plugged in.

My 144hz monitor is stuck at 60hz.

    For https://diamondlobby.com/tech-guides/why-is-my-...

    I have:

Checked the windows settings, says 60hz there.

Check if I'm using a cable for 144hz, yes I am, HDMI 2.0.

Checked if I had outdated drivers, and updated them all, but nothing changed.

Checked if I plugged it into the wrong port, no, I plugged it into the GPU HDMI port.

    For https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/k3iv...

    I have:

Tried a different cable, but nothing changed.

Tried an Nvidia Custom Resolution, doesn't save.

    I have a cable that supports 144hz.
I've tried unplugging and replugging the cable, but did nothing

    For https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/s0gg..
    I
    have:

Tried using another HDMI port, but only have one.

I've tried changing it in both windows and Nvidia settings, but both say 60hz.

    For https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/144hz-m...

    I have:

Turned "VSYNC" off and "Preferred refresh rate" to "Highest Available," still stuck at 60hz.

    For https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/144hz-m...

    I have:

Tried nothing, since it's talking about someone's monitor who isn't capped to 60hz, just thought it was capped when using a UFOtest, which is unreliable. It was set to 144hz.

    And for https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/stuck-a...
    I
    have:

Tried lowering the resolution, I lowered it to 720p and got an option for 120hz, but I want to be able to use my full 1080p@144hz.

Though, I am planning on attempting to use CRU, though I'm still thinking about it since I read that it could cause some screen bugs and shorten the life span of the monitor.

Display settings changing from 60hz to 144hz when plugged into battery.

My 144hz monitor is stuck at 60hz.

I have a BenQ XL2430T 1080p 144hz monitor but it's stuck at 60hz. I have an RTX 2060 and I'm using an HDMI 2.0 cable. Windows and Nvidia control panels only say 60hz, and there is no option to change the refresh rate in the monitor settings.
