Windows 10: Display settings keep going from single monitor to dual monitor, without ever having used a...

Hello, For some reason everytime I shut down my computer and restart some time after, my screen settings go to dual monitor, resulting in bad resolution. Every time I have to go to my settings and revert to single display. I have never used two monitors, so I don't understand why windows would change my monitor settings. I've tried looking up solutions but it seems that most problems of this type concern a PC going from dual monitor back to single, but for me it's exactly the opposite. I have an ASUS Tuf gaming A15. Screen freeze after switching from dual monitor to single monitor

I have been having screen freeze issues when switching from dual monitor to single monitor to use my capture card. It seems that whenever I go from dual screen to single screen, the primary monitor will sometimes freeze. I can move my mouse but nothing is clickable. I have tried swapping from using a physical switch and changing the settings from extending the display to only display 1 and it still freezes. Would appreciate if anyone has any idea why this happens

I understand that you are facing issues with the display scaling on your external displays. We will certainly look into this for you.

As you are using Vizio TV, you may have to try using custom resolution settings if the in-built settings do not provide the required settings.

For better clarity, please let us know:

• What is the version of Windows 10 that is currently installed on your computer? You can click on Search and type
  winver.
• Are you aware of any recent changes to the system, such as updates, after which you are facing this issue?
• What is the make and model of your computer?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to check the steps mentioned in the Workaround section in

I would also suggest you to check the Display drivers. Please refer
