  1. Display turning black for a second, then returning while above 60 hz.

I have my PC connected from an Geforce RTX 3080 to a Sony KD-85X80K TV, which shows that it has a 120 Hz refresh rate through HDMI inputs 3 and 4. Before learning that ports 3 and 4 are the ones that support 120 Hz , I had the HDMI connection to the HDMI 1 port, and was operating at 60 Hz without issue. After swapping the input to HDMI 4 3 is the ARC channel, I'm able to run at 3840 x 2160 @ 120 Hz, but infrequently the screen will go black for a second or two, then return. This appears very similar to the temporary black screen I receive on the TV when I change resolution or refresh rate,

    :)

  2. Monitor going black on 144 hz

Hey, i just bought a new PC with a 4070Ti gigabyte aero edition, when i connected it to my 2 monitors, 1 is 144 hz (odyssey g5) and other one is 60, the 144 went completely black and the 60 one kept going on and off. i bought new cables the 144 hz is connected with 2.1 hdmi. and the 60 is connected with hdmi on the monitor and dp into the pc. when i change the hz on the 144 hz monitor to 60. they work fine. but when i switch it back to 144 the problem returns. this never happend on my old computer. i disconnected the hdmi 144 from the monitor itself and reconnected and now it works fine on 144 but it also did yesterday and the problem returned this morning. also, yesterday at night i had windows updates and i chose update and restart, and after 9 hours there still was a black screen after installing and i had to turn it off and on with the button on the case. does anyone have an idea why this is happening? i also tried uninstalling graphic drivers with DDU and re-installing. same problem. thank you!

4k display flickering on HP z24s monitor on 60 Hz with DP1.2

About a year and half ago I bought a new 4k monitor: HP Z24s.
    The very first batch.

And there has been a constant disappointment. I decided to not return the display to the shop, because everything else was perfect, i.e.: colors, overall quality, price, etc.

The monitor is connected to Radeon R9 390 8G Sapphire Nitro adapter with 3 meters DisplayPort 1.2 cable.

The problem only appears when I try to set the refresh rate to 60 Hz.

On 30 Hz everything works as expected.

Sometimes, the problem is solved when I set the refresh to 30 Hz, restart
Windows 10 LTSB, and then set the refresh rate back to 60 Hz again.

The cable isn't the problem -- I tested it using another display on 60 Hz and everything worked fine. I also tried the cable using different R9 graphics cards (all from different manufacturers). The problem also persists when using another cable altogether.

I starts when I play a full-screen game, or sometimes at seemingly random times with no obvious cause..

Also, I updated monitor driver, and some time it looked good, but with every second AMD driver update I get this problem off and back.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem, or have a similar experience with this display?

P.S.: On Linux Mint 17..18, everything works like a charm -- no flickering on 60 Hz, both with opensource and proprietary drivers. However, on Mint 18 the are opensource only. And Windows, there is no difference if I set the color depth for HP monitor to 8-bit or 10-bit per color.
So bandwidth is not the issue probably.

  4. Display turning black for a second, then returning while above 60 hz.

Black Screen issue When switch between 144hz to 60 hz.

Hi, my self Lokesh. I have my ASUS TUF F 15 laptop. One day I was just using the laptop and suddenly lower portion of the screen got black I tried to Shut down my laptop multiple times, but it doesn't work. Also, one thing that I found is the screen get black only when i Switched it to 144 Hz. When the display is in 60 Hz it goes to normal but once it is switched to 144 the screen gets black. Maybe that issue is occurring because of windows 11 update
