Displayport does not work if I boot PC with an un-powered display

I have had some issues with a display device Texas Instruments DMD. I am using an Onlogic HX600 with a triple displayport IO.If I boot my Windows PC while DMD display is un-powered, then that displayport appears to be disabled for the rest of that session. The DMD display is not detected even when manually detecting via display settings, and if I plug another working monitor into that port, then it also is not detected. This happens no-matter which port the DMD display starts in.Is it possible that Windows is disabling the port by some fault detection? If so, is it possible to see a log of

    :)

  2. Lost Power, now PC won't boot. Powers on and clicks.

I had tried both of those steps. Neither worked. I have a replacement power supply on order. Should be here on Monday. Thanks for the suggestions.

  3. Freeze on early display win 10

    Hi Roger,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

    - What is the make and model of your PC?

    - Do you receive any error message?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps:

If you see the black screen or have a flickering screen follow the steps given below:

    • Try connecting to different video outputs on the PC. Sometimes a change in driver can cause the video to be sent:
    • To a different Adapter: from integrated graphics to a discrete card or vice versa.
    • To a different output: from HDMI to DVI, DisplayPort to VGA, or any other combination.
    • Try to boot into Safe Mode with Networking or Enable low-resolution video.
    • Advanced boot options, Safe Mode with Networking, or Low Resolution Video
    • Check Device Manager and look for Display Adapters
    • If you see 2 items under Display Adapters, disable to integrated video card (e.g. Intel HD 4000 or AMD Radeon HD 4200) and restart. (try vice versa if it does not work)
    • If you see 1item under Display Adapters, rollback the driver or uninstall the display adapter in Device Manager, and enable the option to delete driver software.

Check the PC or display adapter manufacturer’s site for an updated driver.

Hope the information helps, if you have any further queries, feel free to post. We are here to assist you.

    Regards,

    Guru Kiran

  4. Displayport does not work if I boot PC with an un-powered display

Monitor is not working with DisplayPort to HDMI adapter

I have a HP EliteDisplay E222 and it is not able to recieve signals using a HDMI to DisplayPort adapter. I have tried plugging in the DisplayPort side of the adapter into my computer and into my graphics card and both of them give me no signal and that makes
me think it is the monitors issue. However, when I plug the current monitor I am using into the HDMI side of the adapter (when the DisplayPort side of the adapter is connected to my computer) I also get no signal.

I have confirmed that the adapter works on my other computer but I just can not find out why it is not working on my main one.

    I have tried:

    1. Letting windows pick graphic card drivers (RX 570)
    2. Installing the latest drivers
    3. Taking the power cable out of my second monitor for one minute
    4. Resetting the monitor
    5. Turning off the power saving setting in the monitor
    6. Turning power mode to high performance in Windows 10

Unfortunately my current monitor has no DisplayPort port. If it did, I could of connected the DisplayPort side of the adapter to it to determine if the graphic card is the problem or if the monitor is.
