    12900kEVGA 3080TI16GB Ram 3600MHZ MSI PRO Z690-A500GB m.2 NVMEDell 1440 @144hz + 4k at 60hz monitorsEver since I got this computer, everytime it goes to sleep and I wake it, the screens are completely black and the computer never even hits POST. I can resolve this by holding the power button down for 5 seconds to hard reset the computer, at which point it works and boots as normal. This behavior isn't resulting in any BSODs or error codes, so i'm not sure how to diagnose it. 3x now in the last couple of weeks the screens will go completely black while surfing the web, not doing anything specia

    How to disable "5 seconds power button shut off" on a laptop?

    I does not suggest you to do this, if you insist on this, try the following steps.

    1. Open Control Panel
    2. Find and click System and Security
    3. Find and click Power Options
    4. On the left hand, you will see Choose what the power button does and click it
    5. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable to be able to change the settings
    6. In When I press the power button, you can choose Do nothing

    PC doesn't power down after holding power button for 4 seconds

    The power button on a PC is temporary push switch. It makes contact as long as you hold the button down. Quick press and release triggers a smart relay on the MB to turn on or off, depending on default or OS state, such as cold on, sleep on, turn off, sleep off, etc. Holding the button down for a long time is a default hardware power kill switch. If it's not working, suspect the MB. Reset the BIOS is a good suggestion, but prolly won't work.

    My Laptop turns off after 5 seconds....

    Hi Norelle, can you please try the following steps for me:

    • Remove the battery
    • Disconnect the Power lead
    • Press and hold the Power Button for 30 seconds
    • Connect the Power lead
    • Re-insert the Battery
    • Turn your System on
