    Starting around a year ago, my displays have been staying awake all night when the computer locks and other cases my computer locks and the displays go to sleep (this is what I want). I have finally narrowed it down to what is open causing it to stay awake.

    One scenario I have narrowed it down to is after playing League of Legends and I get off for the night, I will forget to close League Client. Result: Displays do not go to sleep.

    There are a bunch of other cases where it does this but I have yet to narrow them down. I leave my computer on all day so that I can RDP into it from my phone, work computer, etc.

    The Question: What things/settings/activities are keeping my monitors awake while my machine is locked and can I control it?

    Windows 10 can't stay awake

    Grep and Kapil,

    Thank you for your help. I was not able to get the Windows 10 to stay awake the configured 30 minutes. But, going through the steps provided, I was able to improve Windows staying awake from 2 minutes to 11 minutes. Why 11 minutes? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    easy way to stay awake?

    The best way to try and stay awake is to not try and stay awake.
    If i try to sleep i don't sleep and vice versa.
