Windows 10: Disply Resolution Changing for no reason

My hubby is very computer illiterate and cannot tell me what he's doing to change the resolution of the screen. When I take a look it's still showing the browser, not the desktop, but the font is much bigger and the screen does not fill up completely. Is there some shortcut hotkey combination he's accidentally hitting?

The recommended resolution on windows 10 is 1920 x 1080. Change the resolution to 1920 x 1080 and check.

The reason why your display was stretched sideways is because the resolution was in-corrected.



Here are the steps to change the screen resolution:

• Right Click the Desktop and select
  Screen Resolution.
• Click the Make text and other items larger or smaller link.
• In the Change only the text size section click the
  drop down menu to select the items you want to change.

Change resolution without seeing

I suggest you to follow the steps below. Check if it helps.

• Press Windows key on the keyboard
• Click on settings
• Go to Display
• Click on Advance display settings
• Change the resolution (1280x1024 recommended)

Try to boot into Safe Mode with Networking or Enable low-resolution video.

To enter into low-resolution mode
in Windows 10 in change the settings in it, follow the steps given below.

• Restart your PC.
• Press Shift + F8 before the Windows logo appears.
• Click See Advanced Repair Options.
• Click Troubleshoot.
• Click Advanced Options.
• Click Windows Startup Settings.
• Click Restart.
