    Why is Windows 10 free

    So it wasn't free, it just cost someone else the price of the lunch. Nothing is free, so what did or will you have to do in exchange? Anyway, there is a tradeoff somewhere, so I'll be installing Win10 on a secure HD and dissecting it for the fun of it.

    Update KB4013429 is causing Explorer.exe to crash

    I have actually found the culprit to be ESET antivirus.

    ESET Endpoint BSOD Windows 10 edevmon.sys

    I have dissected creating restore points along the way. I turned off auto update in the registry. After ESET checked into the console, the BSOD occurred.

    Windows Hello with its biometrics signing on is security wise a step in the right direction, but it does have its weaknesses.
    Facial recognition does seem to depend on ambient lighting conditions, so M$ during setup ask for an alternative pin in order to sign in.
    This of course leaves it open to keyloggers, if using a keyboard.
