Windows 10: DistributedCOM 10016 Error is crippling my PC

Hi,


I have been running my PC absolutely fine since early 2019. I have upgraded bits along the way and still have never had any major issues.


Over the last two weeks my system has been shutting down abruptly, as if there was a power cut, for absolutely no reason at all. In the event viewer all of the warnings, errors and critical events are related to DistributedCOM which I think is something to do with not having the right permissions.


After looking into it I can see this is a problem for lots of people but nobody seems to have my problem. I can be watching netflix, listening to spotify or playing a game, It doesn't matter what I'm doing or how long I'm doing it for my system shuts down by itself at least 10 times an hour making my PC unusable.


I have rebooted my system using windows from this machine which I thought would solve it even though I would lose all my stuff but it hasn't. I have bought a new windows key and installed it from a USB stick and it still happens.


Can anyone help with this problem or has anyone got any clue if my hardware can cause this problem? I have also paid for an app which replaces missing files or repairs damaged ones and that didn't work and I have used the paid version of AVG to scan for possible malware or spyware but that came up with nothing.

DistributedCom 10016 permissions event error

This is Dec 13 a.m. repeat series. The events from previous days in Dec. are now not listed in the Event viewer. This event is recorded at start up , repeats itself and then is not active for the rest of the day.

Hi,

What implications would that be ?
It's easy enough to fix if you follow the steps correctly:

Windows 10 Event ID 10010 and 10016 Errors With DistributedCOM

No need to wait and hold your breath. MS can't be bothered with errors that appear to be random or caused by third party software really.
