Windows 10: .dll and .mui temporary files

Discus and support .dll and .mui temporary files in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; McAfee Tracker Remover cannot remove .dll and .mui temporary files. How can these be deleted?... Discussion in 'Windows 10 Gaming' started by RCS1231, Sep 21, 2022.

    McAfee Tracker Remover cannot remove .dll and .mui temporary files. How can these be deleted?

    Regular '.dll', '.ini' and '.mui' file encryption, and others

    The three .dll encrypted files are the following:

    • cmiv2.dll
    • fms.dll
    • Tabbtn.dll
    I ran the scan, it resolved two of the files but fms.dll is still encrypted. I have a Windows CD, could I use that, to fix the file?

    You could suggest Brink adds mui to this tutorial:
    Restore Default File Type Associations in Windows 10

    From that you could check and compare the content of e.g. the txt reg file which I used as a basis for the above in case I missed something.

    Thank you so much!! The first image was set for Resource Hacker & as soon as I deleted the value for mui, the icons change back to white & they don't have an associated app to open, so that did it.

    I went through the other images & also removed the "OpenWith" option...although I suppose I could have left it.

    I will inform @Brink about it tomorrow.
