Windows 10: Dll files are broken, Explorer.exe continuously crashes and restarts, am unable to reset pc.

The problem started randomly when I logged into my windows 10 desktop and the desktop icons and taskbar continously dissapeared and reappeared. After a lot of research I’ve found that my explorer.exe is continously restarting which is causing the issues on my desktop. I have decided I’m going to reset my computer to factory default however every option to do that isnt possible, when I try to reset it, it says unable to detect media or something like that. I think the problem is being caused by my dll files being corrupted. sfc /scannow doesn’t work, dism commands arent helping.

Windows explore crash when searching

The tenforums link solved this issue for me.

The root cause is a Windows 10 bug where File Explorer crashes when long file names are included in a search result. The steps for the workaround are:

• Open File Explorer
• Click View > Options
• Open the View tab
• Check "Always show icons, never thumbnails"
• Click OK

 

.dll files missing/broken

My pc keeps crashing and the event log shows these things going wrong

The Open Procedure for service "ESENT" in DLL "C:\WINDOWS\system32\esentprf.dll" failed.

The Open Procedure for service "Lsa" in DLL "C:\Windows\System32\Secur32.dll" failed

The Open Procedure for service "MSDTC" in DLL "C:\WINDOWS\system32\msdtcuiu.DLL" failed

Unable to open the Server service performance object. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the status code.

The Open Procedure for service "WmiApRpl" in DLL "C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\wmiaprpl.dll" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the error code.

This happens every time, right before the system crashes, in that order too.

Running the system file checker it says the files are broken and cant be repaired even when I am offline doing it.

I could manually replace them but I don't know where to get them. I have nothing to go to from Microsoft. Just need fresh untainted files.

It could be something that we are missing. The computer only crashes when I play tom clancys the division. Every other game works fine. Could it be that? Different drivers don't fix it. And it gets worse and worse each time it does fail....as in shorter
time span before another crash.

16GB ram

XMP enabled

I suggest that you perform the steps below and check if it helps resolve the issue.

• Uninstall all those apps (using revo uninstaller) which are giving you msvcr100.dll and msvcp100.dll files missing error
• Open the link below

And download and install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4.

3. Download VSU_4\vcredist_x64.exe if you’ll be installing this on Windows 10 64bit.

4. Download VSU_4\vcredist_x86.exe if you’ll be installing this on Windows 10 32bit.
