Hi zdub, question for you, how did you manage to convert your install.esd to a .wim file? Is there a particular command for that to use in the command prompt?

I've been researching this all day and can't quite figure it out, but I'm fairly certain I can only fix the error 0x800f081f if I have the .wim file, which is no longer obtainable at TechBench as you said.

    Cheers

Try to boot in safe mode and run the DM Log Collector, then try a restore point.

Apologies, I'm new here, but I was referring to his post that is from this thread (post 5 - dm_log_collector - NO FILE! - Windows 10 Forums)

Is there a better place to ask this question? It seems relevant to some degree, since he did mention it here.

    Cheers

There are many threads about SFC problems, but I wouldn't recommend reverting ESD to WIM, I would recommend downloading the appropriate one instead.

Hi BGC, there were techbench links to an ISO with an install.wim, but they seem to be obsolete. A good guide to converting an .esd to a .wim which worked perfectly for me (although I did give up on win 10 in the end) is here: Change ESD to WIM - Windows - Spiceworks
