Hello Everyone,Previously i had two DNS servers, and I recently added a third one. Now, I have the following DNS servers:ExDNS IP push using GPO :DNS1 = 192.168.1.1DNS2 = 192.168.1.2DNS3 = 192.168.1.3I need to push all three DNS IPs to the Active Directory member computers using Group Policy. 2. GPO to Hide only the DNS IP in TCP/IP Properties

    Hi,

Is there a way to hide or disabled and not giving the user the privileges to change the DNS IP settings in TCP/IP properties.

Can GPO be used in this case.

    Regards,

  3. GPO: more then one printer with the same IP address?

    Hello

I have an issue, which Microsoft documented. But for us it is a problem and I hope someone can help.

    Problem description

aim: Some Users need different configuration of a printer view times a day. For example different paper tray. On with company paper and one with plain paper. The user don't want to change the tray every time in the printer settings. We need a feature which
works for every application (Word, Notepad, Outlook,...) and it has to be efficient for the user.

solution: Our solution is, to create the same printer more then one time on the server. for example "printer01-whitepaper" and "printer01-companypaper". For sure the printers have the same ip address (dns name) and the same printer driver. The only difference
is the configuration. But this works basically.

problem: If we add the printers trough a GPO (User Configuration -> Preferences -> Control Panel Settings -> Printers) only the first printer in the GPO list is added. The second is ignored. If we add the printers manually at the computer of the user it
works like a charm. Also different DNS Name for the two printers does not help.

In my opinion a logon script would be a possible solution. But I don't like to create a logon script for just this issue.

    Reproduce the problem

    We did the following:

    • Configure the printer with IP address
    • One DNS entry for the IP address
    • Create two different printers on the printer server. Use the same DNS Name.
    • Add the two printers in a GPO (User Configuration -> Preferences -> Control Panel Settings -> Printers)
    • Assign the GPO to a user
    • result: The first printer in the list is added
    • Change the printer order in the GPO.
    • Delete the printer on the client and execute "gpupdate /force"
    • Now the second printer in the list is added.

    Documentation of Microsoft

On "Configure a TCP/IP Printer Item" it sais "If a TCP/IP printer connection with the same IP address exists, then it does not modify it."

This article explains why the problem above appears. What is the aim of this restriction?

    Does anyone know a workaround?

Maybe Microsoft allow to add a view printer with the same ip address in the near future?

    Thank you for your help.

    Kind regards

    Michael

  4. DNS IP push using GPO

    DNS problems with router

A couple suggestions I have for you:

Update the firmware on the router. Maybe it's getting into a badstate, and a firmware update might fix it. Or if you're comfortable with it, install a custom firmware like dd-wrt. Just make sure its supported on your router first.

Change your DNS to: 8.8.8.8, 4.2.2.1. Might help.

If none of these work, maybe statically set your DNS on your PS3/PC to the IPs you listed, taking the router out of the lookup procedure.

Last option, is look for a new router.
