  1. DNS NSlookup Debugging question

I have been searching the internet and have not found the answer to my question and I don't know if this is the correct location to ask it. BUT when you are using the exhaustive debugging set d2 option of nslookup, it seems to omit information? Either that or I don't know how it works properly most likely the case. below I pasted some information to kind of explain what I am talking about. When you are on a subdomain and you attempt to nslookup anything not within your TLD it seems to not show any information above that. you can see when I nslookup facebook.com it "climbs" up the ladder fr

  2. NSLOOKUP PROBLEM

Hi everyone, I have an F5 DNS, I have configured his listeners ..... he resolves all URL asked with NSLOOKUP except the client URL he returns the IP of F5 listener when I do a nslookup -debug URL or nslookup -type=soa URL, it shows the right canonical
name, to be sure that it's windows problem I had login with SSH to F5 and do dig it shows canonical name in ubuntu same thing. So if anyone can help to solve this problem I will be very thankful.

  3. NSLOOKUP PROBLEM

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

Appreciate your efforts to work on this issue.

I would like to let you know that nslookup is a command line tool which helps you to find the DNS records of a website. It sends a name server query to the DNS and obtains the corresponding IP address. It can also perform some other complex functionality
like finding details about FTP server, Mail server and so on, but most of them are used by IT administrators. It also queries the DNS server directly and doesn’t rely on the cache.

You can refer to these articles for more information.

Further, I would like to let you know that this issue is more complex than what is typically answered here in Microsoft Answers Forum. It is best suited in our

TechNet Windows 10 IT Pro Networking Forum
where most audience are IT Professionals, and can provide further assistance in resolving your concern.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.

    DNS NSlookup Debugging question

Help please, nslookup command no longer functioning.

Good question. It would seem so, but your nslookup response only shows the IPv6 result. It seems to reflect how your ISP handles DNS.

Did the nslookup -query=AAAA google.com work for you?
