Do I Customize View in File Folder Using Tags or Comments, and how?

    Hi,

I have files where I have named each one a recipe I have. I have begun the name of each recipe with a letter grade based upon how much I like it, e.g. A+ Stir-fried chicken, A Steak, A- Fish, B+ Hamburger, etc.

I would like to list the files with the highest grade first, then next, but Windows 10 won't let me do that. For example they list A- ahead of A+, B- ahead of B+, or they will list a recipe with no letter grade yet with the recipes with letters, e.g. apple pie will be ahead of B+ spaghetti. I have used spacing, etc to try to work around it but can't find any way to do it.

So is tagging or comment or grouping the solution to this? And if so I haven't been able to figure out how to do that, e.g. how do you name the group? FYI I don't want to make sub-folders of A,B, etc. as I want to see all the recipes in one place.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

    :)

  2. Ridiculously slow startup time for file opener/browser

So list/details view is fast? Which views are slow?

Depending on the type of files in a folder, Explorer applies templates such as General items/Documents/Pictures/Music/Videos (can be viewed from folder properties > Customize tab). Some of these are slower because they involve extracting information from
each file, such as EXIF tags from JPGs for example, or ID3 tags from MP3s and so on.

If that's not the issue in your case then see how Explorer behaves under another user account.
