  1. Do I have a bad power supply?

Hello All, My computer has started to randomly shut down and then once its shut down, it will try to randomly start up. It will power up and try to cycle and then power down. If I do not remove the power chord, the PC will keep trying to start up. I have not made any changes to the power setting recently. I have disabled Windows Fast Start Up as that was causing issues. I have turned off the option for "sleep" when I have seen the option. It is still on in the additional power settings\change what the buttons do but other than that, sleep is disabled. Windows Update is on so perhaps Windows released a "fix" recently...? I could check more settings but I have a feeling my Power Supply is bad. I plugged the power chord back in and the PC tried to start up but failed. I turned it off before it could cycle a bunch of times and try to start up. What does everyone else think? Thanks, Bill

    :)

I need advice for power supply .....

I would suggest looking through this list its quite extensive but the lemon list is far from complete I would bet I,ve used antec, corsair evga, seasonic and I refuse to cheap out on a power supply.. I figure and rightly so If I.m spending some serious money on hardware last place I" skimping on is a power supply A bad supply or cheaply made unit can cost you way more once it fails then it would have if you bought a decent one in the beginning.. Do NOT skimp on power supplys

    Hi Mikky,

To get better clarity on the issue, kindly answer the questions below:

    • Have you installed any software or programs on your computer prior to this issue?
    • What was the last thing you have done on your computer before this issue happened?
Since this issue occurs every time you connect or disconnect the computer to the power supply, we suggest you run the Power troubleshooter. To do this, follow the steps below:

    • On the Start menu, type Troubleshooting.
    • On the left-side, click View all.
    • Select Power and run the troubleshooter.
If the issue persists, then probably the issue is with a faulty driver. Kindly installed the latest chipset driver for your computer. For better assistance on installing the right driver, we suggest you to contact your PC manufacturer.
