Then why did APC suddenly admit some 15 million of their protectors must be removed immediately due to fires and other human safety issues. APC did not admit this until after a company of integrity bought them. Other APC like companies (Panamax, Belkin, Trpplite, Monster) do not have new management that would put more emphasis on human safety.

Human safety is one issue. Transistor safety is another. APC protectors do not claim to protect transistors from destructive surges. Worse, they needed new management before admitting too major human safety issues. Would you reconsider after learning some facts?

APC UPS is sold on subjective myths that is does more than provide temporary and 'dirty' power. Lying is legal in sales brochures - but not in specification numbers.

My point repeatedly. Most make conclusions only on their emotions. Technically honest conclusions occur only after learning facts - especially spec numbers. How many spec numbers did you consult before trusting APC?

 

I'm not going to continue this "discussion". I like APC products and use them with no issues.,

 

I believe that if all the comments were combined into one document -- that document would accurately reflect the features, the benefits, the possible downsides of each and every available choice in the marketplace today.

 

Today I spoke with a rep from APC to ask for his recommendations for a UPS. He asked me the wattage of my PC and PSU which is 450 and 750 respectively. This idiot said that based on my build I'd need a UPS that would cost $600. Mind you, my PC cost $600 to build. During the call I sent that f***ing idiot to hell.

I can't believe he suggested that. If this rep is indicative of the way the conpany operates, I would go shop for a UPS at another company.

I'm a retired Architect and worked closely with fire marshals, inspectors, and fire safety engineers throughout my career in residential an institutional design.
