    Do I need "LMHOSTS Lookup" ?


    I ve recently wanted to tweak my Wi-Fi adapter for better internet and came across this setting called "Enable LMHOSTS Lookup".What is up with setting, do I need it? To make it clear I am just a normal laptop user who is wishing the best internet in gaming and if this is not something i would normally need then I would totally appreciate an answer .

    Suggestion - Lookup tooltip

    Lookup button has no tooltip now. I suggest one to be added.
    Saying something like "Lookup your video card in GPU database and open info link"/etc.

    How to write in lmhosts in Windows 10

    Hi,

    I wish to write in lmhosts to enter the IP adress and name of the computers I wish to map disks to...

    I know the syntax (typically IP adress - name #PRE) and I have done it for WinXP and Win7...

    My problem is that when I open the lmhosts file (with NotePad started as an administrator), enter the necessary information and try to save the file, I get the following message:

    "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process".

    How can I write in lmhosts ?
