Windows 10: Do I Need More RAM or A New Computer

Hi...


I am having lots of issues with my Dell Latitude E7400 Intel Core i5, CPU @ 2.0GHz, 8GB RAM. My company forced a Windows 10 update with previous versions no longer being supported.


I can do very little on my computer, running my applications barely and using my tablet as my browser. Memory is already at 40-50% at start-up prior to bringing up any programs.


Do I need to add more RAM if so, how much?? Or do I need a new computer with a SSD hard drive?


Windows 10 seems to be a real hog even after defrags, deleting temp files, running multiple malware scans, etc.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

To RAM or not to RAM...

Hey genesis what hardware have you bought, you might be able to save on the ram and step up the rest of the hardware a little...

Or you could go out on the town as suggested... *Big Grin

 

Video card or RAM need upgrading?

Memtest: no errors after 10 hrs.
I'm going to perform the Primetest, later on. Get back to you on that.
I'm going to take it step by step, guys. I need to find the problem with this current computer. I might have to upgrade some components, so that it is still runnable. As for the new one, yes....i will build on it later. I need to find something decent 'gaming experience', all suggestions appreciated. THanks.
