Windows 10: Do I need to activate windows 10 to download AMD graphic driver?

I bought a PC with "Windows 10 Pro 64 bit pre-installed unactivated" I am desperately trying to upgrade my graphic driver since it is required for a game I am trying to play. However, when the download is complete there is a yellow triangle in my display adapters>Radeon RX 570 series. When i click on the program to open a prompt opens stating " No AMD graphic driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. Please install the AMD driver appropriate for your AMD hardware." I have tried from rebooting to cleaning the computer in safe mode. My question is, do I need to activate or have a product key to allow the PC to download the AMD driver? Thanks in advanced.

Windows 10 AMD Driver Error

This issue might happen due to the incompatibility of drivers with the operating system.

I suggest you to try compatibility mode for AMD graphics driver and check if it helps. To do so kindly follow the below given steps:

• Right click on AMD driver that you have downloaded.
  
• Click/tap on Properties.
• Check the Run this program in Compatibility mode for under
  Compatibility tab
• Select Windows 8.1/8 from the drop down under
  Compatibility mode section.
• Click on Apply and Ok.
• Install the drivers, restart PC and check if issue is resolved.

AMD Graphic Driver

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check, if it helps:

Method 1: I suggest you to update drivers and check if that helps. If that issue persist please uninstall and reinstall latest drivers available in manufacturer website.

• Press “Windows + X” and select Device manger.
• Select Display Adapter and expand the driver icon.
• Right click on the driver icon and click on Update.
• Follow the onscreen instructions to update the driver.

If that issue persist try to install in Compatibility mode

Method 2::Compatibility mode

I would suggest you to install the latest available drivers on manufacturer's website in compatibility mode.

Follow the steps below on how to install driver in compatibility mode:

1. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.
