Windows 10: Do I need to buy 2 new monitors that match?

Hello,I am pulling my hair out trying to set up dual extended monitors. Using WIN+I and WIN+P I see all the options. I can run the 2 monitors I have in mirror even though Windows does not detect the second screen and trying to move to Ext in WIN+P does not stick. As soon as I close the page it resets to "PC Screen only".I have tried both on HDMI and one on V.G.A. I have 2 sets of splitters. 1 supports mirror and the other Extend. There is only 1 monitor graphic at the top of WIN+I. It doesn't seem to matter what I do Windows can't see the second screen. I have been told that one of the mon

Trouble with 2 monitors

I suggest you to change the settings to Extended Monitor and check if it helps.

Please follow below steps:

• Right Click any ware of the Desktop, and launch Personalization.
• Go to dual monitor settings under personalization, and change it Extended Monitor.

Buying a new monitor

Hi guys, how's it going?

I've been thinking of spending some money on a new display, since I've been using an old 32" FHD LG TV as my monitor for about 2 years now.
Requirements:

• At least 27",
• not more than 300€,
• IPS,
• >FHD (optional).

I've looked at the market a bit and I'm quite intrigued by the new ultra-wides. Are there any known huge flaws with these displays?

1st candidate: LG 29UM69G (269 €), which is an IPS and also has Freesync!
2nd candidate: LG 29UM59-P (264 €)

Do you have any suggestions? I'm sort of leaning towards the 1st one.

• What changes did you make in the BIOS? As making the changes in the BIOS is only recommended by Microsoft if done by the manufacturer.
  

• How are you connecting to the 2nd monitor?
