Do I need to decrypt my data drives, D:\ or E:\ before re-installation Windows?

Hi, Now I am running Windows 10 Pro with BitLocker enabled on C:\, D:\ and E:\. D:\ and E:\ are my data drives and want to keep the data can access after re-installation. As I know I can either decrypt or no need decrypt System drive, C:\ because the encryption key will be erased when I delete the system partition in the re-installation step. But I'm not sure I must decrypt the data drives, D:\ and E:\ before re-installation the Windows or not?

    :)

  2. A partition drive is e and not d in windows 10

Hi guys, when I installed windows 10 I did it using a USB. I went from windows 7 to windows 10. With Windows 7 I had made a partition, so I had OS (CDo I need to decrypt my data drives, D:\ or E:\ before re-installation Windows? :) and (Data (DDo I need to decrypt my data drives, D:\ or E:\ before re-installation Windows? :). When I installed Windows 10 (using the USB), what used to be Data (DDo I need to decrypt my data drives, D:\ or E:\ before re-installation Windows? :), became (Data (EDo I need to decrypt my data drives, D:\ or E:\ before re-installation Windows? :),
as the usb became Drive (DDo I need to decrypt my data drives, D:\ or E:\ before re-installation Windows? :). So what I have now, after removing the usb is: OS (CDo I need to decrypt my data drives, D:\ or E:\ before re-installation Windows? :) and (Data (EDo I need to decrypt my data drives, D:\ or E:\ before re-installation Windows? :). And whenever I connect and external drive, such as a usb or a backup external hard drive, it becomes Drive (DDo I need to decrypt my data drives, D:\ or E:\ before re-installation Windows? :). My question is if this is a problem, to have
OS (CDo I need to decrypt my data drives, D:\ or E:\ before re-installation Windows? :) and (Data (EDo I need to decrypt my data drives, D:\ or E:\ before re-installation Windows? :), instead of Data being D:? Is it important for Data to be D and not E, because when I start my computer, I don't always have connected a Drive D? Should I always have something connected to the computer so it becomes Drive D? Should
I re-install Windows 10 and make sure that Data is D:? Is this an issue for having (Data (EDo I need to decrypt my data drives, D:\ or E:\ before re-installation Windows? :) and not as (Data (DDo I need to decrypt my data drives, D:\ or E:\ before re-installation Windows? :)? I'm saying this because it's not following a right sequence and C and E are partitions, which were part of a same drive once, and it's not
following a sequence now. My computer has had some issues and I'm wondering if this could be the cause.

    Thanks!

A partition drive is e and not d in windows 10

Both of the Directly "advisors'" responses thus far fail to point out (in addition to misspelling "Disk" Management) that if the flash drive has been assigned the drive letter "E" it won't be an available choice when you try to change the
letter on the drive. You will need to first remove the "D" designation on the flash drive, then assign "D" to the partition.

Do I need to decrypt my data drives, D:\ or E:\ before re-installation Windows?

Installing windows off of a USB stick

    Step By Step from vista:
    From admin cmd prompt

    1. diskpart
    1a. list disk
    2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
    3. clean
    4. create partition primary
    5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
    6. active
    7. format fs=fat32
    8. assign
    9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk
