Do I need to edit the security for all 300,000,000 files on my hard drive?

I have a large external hard drive, and recently my windows was corrupted on my ssd, fantastic...

So I reinstall windows to a new ssd, get it set up, there's no way to fix the old one, but now im faced with a problem, I cannot access any of the files on my External HDD. So I edit the hard drive security and change myself to the new owner including all the subfolders.

I can access it and the folders within.

But within every single folder, every file is still unpermitted to me, I can't even delete it without administrator rights.

So I go to UAC and give myself Administrator again... turns out I already have it, so I restart my computer try again and nothing, as it is I have about a billion files and no way to mass permit myself access to them, it would be even less annoying if I was able to delete all 3 TB of the things but I don't have permission to do that either, it requires permission from 'DESKTOP-4ADNL80\potta to make changes'

So I go to manage my accounts and see if there is another one installed, and nothing, just me.

    :)

  2. ST6UNST.000 corrupt

Trying to uninstall a program I get the message:

    Could not open file 'C:\Logger32\ST6UNST.000'

I've tried sfc /scannow and it finds some corrupt files and the source files are corrupt also, so it cannot repair.

I've tried a Windows Restore, but that said that there was an error and could not be performed.

    Any suggestions?

  3. Found.000 file inaccessible via normal, pre Win 10 methods

The file is left over from a chkdsk operation. It sits in the root of the C drive and just bugs me. Checking further.... found.000 is actually a directory and the complete path is "C:\found.000\dir_00000002.chk\Controls\AchievementsControl.xbf". The xbf
file requires system permission to delete.

    How to recover windows.old.000

How to recover windows.old.000 file, I had no idea that they would be deleted after 28 days.

Otherwise I would have saved them in another location.
