    Do my laptop needs more memory to perform well?


    I have been using this laptop for personal uses ;for social medias, mails and others. It performs quite well not bad until I try to run some photoshop tools or programming apps. So I want to upgrade its performance capacity by adding new 4 gb RAM. And my question is "Should I use additional RAM?" does the processor supports additional RAM?

    ps: I cannot afford new laptop which is why i am trying to find a cheaper way to reach my needs . I am from Nepal and starting my Bachelors in Computer engineering .

    New Laptop constantly low on memory.

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

    I understand that you receive low memory error even though it has 8 gb of RAM. We will assist you to resolve the issue.

    This issue may arise due to:

    Corruptions in Windows components, Ram not accessing its full capacity, multiple files opened on the computer etc.

    As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to run
    System Maintenance troubleshooter finds and clean up

    unused files and shortcuts and performs maintenance tasks.

      • Press Windows key and type Troubleshooting.
      • Select Troubleshooting and hit Enter.
      • Click on View all in the left pane of the window.
      • Select System Maintenance.
    Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

    If the issue still persists, I suggest you to check if the computer is using its full memory.

    • Press Windows key + R and type msconfig.
    • Go to Advance options and check if you have choosen use Maximum memory.
    • If not, I suggest you to place a check mark, restart the computer and check if that helps.

    Laptop with broken screen How much?

    I would like suggestions and look in local stores. I dont wanna buy a laptop from someone online. Sorry. But could be a good idea if you asked him about the performance on older games. Gonna make a list ofall laptops people suggest me.

    Remove the screen for space purpose here its small desk and if the screen is opened it will hide my 22 inches lcd
