  1. Do servers handling internet traffic think I'm a bot because I halted some OS background...

About 2 weeks ago I starting forcefully halting some of my operating system's background services, such as Google Update Helper, in an attempt to optimize my PC. Now, YouTube videos don't buffer and some other sites and services are also loading at crawl speeds. Checking my Outlook email can take 10 minutes. My Steam client alerted me I needed to re-install missing software to authenticate me and for anti-cheat purposes. I'm wondering if by stopping some OS background services I blacklisted myself as a bot or hacker? The YouTube issue does not persist if I log out of my gmail. W

    OS Handle/installer

The OS Driver is not recognized for my HP Officejet Pro 6978. HP suggests that I request a exception for

the driver to be added to the list as the handle is invalidated.

    Battle Field 2 Bots

i heard you start a multiplayer lan game, let your friends fire up the server browser so that they have your multiplayer game (without bots) listed.
now you shut down your server and start a single player server, then your friends click that (old) entry in the listing, poof they join your server with bots

What server os can I get by with?

I've been running a remote server in the states for many years now, but we are stepping it up. Just upgraded to a 10gb/s connection, and are getting ready to set up websites, gaming and teamspeak servers ect. It won't be too heavy at first. But I need a reliable os to handle the new, probably much higher traffic. Currently running win7 home, which plagues me constantly, I'm trying to convince the owner to upgrade to a server os, but he's complaining about the price. So what can I use that won't cost an arm and a leg that will make my life easier?
