Windows 10: Do status icons on the lock screen still exist?

Hi,I remember from around Windows 10 ver. 18xx that there were icons on the lock screen that did show things like emails and stuff.The option is still in the personalization settings both in Windows 11 and 10 but it seems like it doesn't do anything anymore. No icons on the lock screen, nothing changes at allDoes this still exist, or did it get removed? And if it did get removed, why is the option still there?I kinda liked it...Regards,LightJack

Black Lock Screen

Hi Eugen,

As you have already tried to update the driver and changed the settings, I suggest you perform a startup repair by following the steps below and check if it helps.

• In the Lock screen, press/hold the shift key and click on power icon>restart.
• Click on Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Startup Repair and follow the prompts to start the Startup Repair.

After the Startup Repair is complete, check for the status.

Lock Screen keeps changing

Windows Spotlight picks the photos from Bing and displays them in the lock screen. I understand that you have set a picture and it is getting changed automatically.

I suggest you to follow the steps to select the Picture that you want to be displayed on the lock screen. Please follow the steps mentioned below to set a Picture to lock screen:

1. Press and hold Windows + I key on the keyboard to open settings.
   
2. Click on Personalization.
   
3. Click on Lock screen.
   
4. Click on the drop down under Background and select
   Picture.
   
5. Click on Browse and select the picture that you want to set.

Changing lock screen photos

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Navigate to Start>Settings>Personalization.
• In the left navigation pane, click on Lock screen.
• In the right pane, select Pictures from the drop down list under
  Background.
• Select the picture from the list or click on Browse to select your saved images and set as lock screen image.
