Windows 10: Do Windows 10 20H2 have low RAM protection?

I remember back in the good old Windows 7, when I ran out RAM while having too much games and programs open at same time, windows 7 were giving somesort error that saying RAM is not enough instead of annoying blue screen. Windows 10 have this protection? What would happen if I reach near of my total system memory? I do hope for a auto program/game closure to save RAM and not a blue screen.Thanks

Windows 10 is running low on memory with 8GB ram

Hi guys,

my pc is HP8300 with 8 GB of ram (image), and I am constantly getting "Your system is low on memory" message and it asks to close
some apps. This happens only during the night, where I have opened IE 11, with one tab for a local network camera stream and Chrome with couple tabs - nothing particular. Regular RAM usage as of the writing of this message is 4.4 GB according to task manager.

Some notes:

• Stand by is turned off.
• Reinstall did not help.
• Memtest did not show any ram issues.
  See ram model
• Virtual memory is set to automatic and shows over 14GB.

I have doubts that at some point the RAM fails and then restores but when I run memtest it works

I wanted to use the performance monitor, but I will have to let it record all night and it will produce enormous file.

Do you guys have any suggestions how can I troubleshoot this issue?

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

1. Set the autosave options in MS Office to a low value say 5 minutes.
2. Setup file history to autosave frequently - the shortest period is 5 mins
3. Install Macrium Reflect Free and configure it to do a daily incremental system backup

You should be well covered if you do the above to protect your key files.
