Windows 10: Do Windows Defender excluded folders include all subfolders

To All,Do Windows Defender excluded folders include all subfolders? So if I set a folder as excluded, will all subfolders under it be excluded too?So if I set an exclusion for C:\Users\Steve\source and there are subfolders source\project1, source\project2 source\project3..., then will all projectN folders be excluded too?Same for if product is Windows 10.TIA,

This folder is being watched:

C:\Users\Shane\Music

I would like to exclude this subfolder:

C:\Users\Shane\Music\_downloads

Files in this subfolder are usually tagged incorrectly, and I like to fix them before moving them into the sorted folders.

Is it possible to exclude a subfolder?

How to exclude sub folders with specific name from backup

I would like to exclude the node_modules folders from backup. The backup folder has many node_modules subfolders. Are there any methods to exclude subfolders with specific names without adding to excluding list individually? Something like exclude "
*node_modules* "
