Windows 10: Do you need some special knowledge in order to do a system restore? I am trying to work...

My error is described in this SO thread.

I am a programmer so I am used to dealing with weirdass problems. But this is a whole nother level. BCD, boot menu, boot configurations etc. All the troubleshooting tutorials causally mention these concepts like theyre obvious terms like CPU and RAM. I am right now hopelessly typing arcane commands into my command prompt, not knowing what I am doing or what my output means.

Seriously, do you need to some windows whiz to get yourself out of this error? I have no clue what I am doing at this point.

System Restore Not Working

Where you able to successfully restore your system after trying these suggestions ???? Inquiring Minds would like to Know !

• Any changes made on the computer prior to this concern?
• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
• Are you getting any error messages when trying to perform system restore? If so, can you send us a screenshot?

• Have you performed all the suggested troubleshooting steps found on this thread?

I understand that you receive an error, ‘0x8007045b’ when trying to do a System Restore. I’ll certainly assist you with this.



However, please let us know:

• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? Refer
  Which version of Windows operating system am I running?

• Are you aware of any changes made to the computer prior to this issue?
  

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article

System Restore may fail with error code 0x8007045b if there is encrypted content in the restore point and see if that helps.



Note: The above mentioned article is for Windows 8/8.1, however, holds good for Windows 10.
