I need to vent.Seriously Windows 11 is just rubbish. Take me back to a modern Windows 7 and I will be happy. Not everyone is a tech head Microsoft. Here is my suggestion, Microsoft should make two versions of their Windows O/S, one for tech heads and one for the rest of us that just does the basics. All I need is browser, email client, word, excel and a couple of apps like Skype or Whatsapp and thats it.

    :)

Weird occurrence - desktop won't load, spinning wheel etc

With all the suggestion and all your trial and errors I think you should throw in the towel and just start new. It shouldn't be this hard.

Microsoft Throwing Silverlight Under The Bus?

Excellent. Cross that off my list of things to learn. And Microsoft can start focusing on improving their HTML5 support in IE.

Thinking about Going back to Win8.1

If want to disable IE, still can. However, can't uninstall it like were able to in XP/98/whatever.
Here's how, although I find it useful in case Chrome or Firefox stops working and have to re-download it. *Wink
    1. Search for turn windows features on or off and click it in the search results.
