Windows 10: Docking a Windows App to the Taskbar just opens This PC instead of the app

Right-clicking it does give me a menu, but actually clicking on the PC icon there only brings up This PC. What could be the reason for that?

I am running Fences, Start10, and DisplayFusion as well. This is Windows 10 Home Edition 64-bit build 17134.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. *Smile

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Weather App not working windows 8.1

The apps troubleshooter wouldn't fix it on any of the machines. Tried syncing the app licenses, too. No dice. Uninstalling and reinstalling the MSN Weather App appears to have fixed it.

 

Photos are opening with Paint instead of Photos app
