Windows 10: DOCSIS 3.1 problems?

A question about cable coax wiring and DOCSIS 3.1 modems. Is it possible for a building's wiring to prevent a DOCSIS 3.1 modem from connecting with an ISP, even with no problems with signal strength?

Windows 10 Hotspot Limitation

TLDR; Is there anyway to bypass the 8 device limitation?

I am an IT professional and recently upgraded to a DOCSIS 3.1 modem in my home. This has put my expensive DOCSIS 3.0 Nighthawk modem+router combo out of commission. I noticed I have the ability to host a Hotspot which completely eliminated the need to purchase
another expensive wireless router / AP except for one huge issue: It only supports up to 8 devices.

My machine has a built in AC1900 Triband WIFI card and I was hitting over 16+ wireless clients in a hosted network configuration; however, this has become a messy process which was replaced by Windows 10 Hotspot feature, but the 8 device limitation is throwing
a wrench in my home wireless environment. Would anyone be so kind as to point me in the direction of a REG key or GPO policy that can bypass this arbitrary limit?

Please can anyone tell me if this modem is compatible with windows 10 - Cable Modem Arris Wireless 3.0, SURFboard Docsis Motorola Wi-Fi Router. I know it works for Windows XP, and Windows 7- or which one will be compatible

Yes. Especially if there are splitters in the cable that aren't passing the proper frequencies. I've also seen coax just twisted together or bare cable shoved into the ends of barrel splices and splitters without having any proper F-Connector on them at all.

If you have access to the cable coming into the building and an extension cord, you can take the modem to the entry point - there should at least be a grounding block connection where you can connect the modem directly to the incoming cable and see if you have problems there, eliminating all of the building wiring.
