    Document download as Word doc and unable to open as its origin is pdf


    When I download a document, its original format is pdf but for some reason my downloads show a word doc. icon so that when I tried to open it, it says can not be converted to word document and wont open. I want the pdf format anyway. How do I change?

    Unable to open PDF or Word docs

    I'm suddenly unable to open pdf or word docs that are posted on a website that I access regularly. No error message. Just clocking and then a blank screen?

    OPENING A SAVED PDF DOC

    Trying to open a PDF document, as a PDF doc that I downloaded and saved on my laptop. When I click on 'open' a message box appears. I am given two options--either convert it to a Word doc or 'Cancel". How do/can I open my doc the way that it should be, as a PDF document?

    Which application do you use to open and view PDF's?

    Did you try downloading the PDF or Word document, launch the respective application then open it from there?

    You can might also want to repair Microsoft Office and or reinstall your PDF viewer.

    You can try opening the PDF in Edge.
