Windows 10: Document Save Settings

ColleaguesWhen I go to save a new document or spreadsheet etc. I want it to default to Documents C: > Users > Ian, but I'm always only offered the default option of: Documents OneDrive - Personal I've tried following directions given on the web to: 'Change your default save location', using: Settings, System, Storage, but all I get is: 'New documents will save to 'Local Disk C:, i.e. no mention of OneDrive, and the drop-down options don't offer c:/Users > IanAre you able to help me resolve this issue?Many thanksIan

I suggest you to follow the below steps to give permission for entire system, so that you can save the files in photos and documents.

• Right click on the folder and click on properties.
• Click on security tab and select the group\user name.
• Click on edit option and check the option full control.
• Click on apply and then on ok button.

Now you can try saving the file in photos and documents and check if the issue persists.

How to save a scanned document as PDF

Hi Chuck.

There are some options that you can do to save the scanned documents to PDF file. You may follow these steps:

• Copy the scanned document.
• Open Word, then paste it.
• Click File > Save As > Choose the location where you want to save it.
• On Save as type, choose PDF > Save.

Unable to Save to Documents


I can't move, copy or save anything to my Documents folder. I checked the properties of the folder, under serurity it listed only Home Users and WMP Network Svc. My account name is listed in the srcurity tabs of Pictures, Music, etc., and I am able to save, copy and move to those folders. My account is listed in C:/Windows/Users/myname/Documents under the security tab. How do I add my name to the Documents folder in File Explorer? I think that should fix my problem.

In a not so critical glitch, my computer will not go to sleep using the power settings in the control panel.
