Windows 10: Documents folder on desktop will refuse to be deleted

I'm on Windows 10 and I've came across this problem today. A documents file shown on my desktop won't delete, and when I try, more files are put onto the desktop.



The files/folders in red are the files that constantly keep coming back, and the folder in blue is the one causing the problem. I have tried creating a shortcut and locating the file, seemingly in Desktop on the Files application.

Is this caused by a hidden folder or a zipped folder? I'm not sure because I don't remember putting those exact files in a zipped/hidden folder.


Would appreciate some easy answers, I'm not very smart with tech, thank you!

Trouble deleting a folder

Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.

Will I be forever stuck with these unnecessary folders? *Oh Well hwell:

 

Is it ok to delete all the files/documents in temporary folder(Temp)?

Downloads folder is the Documents folder

I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

Step 1:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Download folder.
• Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

Step 2:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Documents folder.
• Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.
